Time marches on...

Some weeks are just easier to count the blessings…see all the graces given…
This was one of those weeks….
My husband and I celebrated 31 yrs. of marriage
When you share 31 yrs. together…you taste many different flavors…
So after a lovely dinner, my husband wants to take me to Baskin Robbins….

Humm…interesting…then I figure it out…
Baskin Robbins…31 flavors…

beautiful flowers from our son...he counts with us.

Celebration continues with senior day for our son…
We are rounding the corner…the end is in sight…
The fourth of the five children completing this phase of life…
And my heart journeys down the road toward this releasing…
Joy for what lies ahead for him…

but a sadness for another permanent change to our families landscape…

Friends and family came to honor this milestone…

Little Ellie would be his #1 fan…

and he is pretty smitten himself.

Oh, some many times over the years I just wanted to freeze this family in time…
How I wanted to hold on to each phase…thinking…
“it can’t get much better than this”…
As time marches on…each phase…each transition… holds hidden treasures…
A richness that would have been missed if time stood still….

~blessed marriage of 31 yrs.…
~dinner with hubby
~daughter’s touching tribute to us
~ roses from our son
~being able to exercise again
~engaging conversations with the kids
~a friend who drives up for the day to celebrate with us…
~sweet…sweet emails from new friends from here
~Ellie starting to react…smiles that melt my heart
~Ellie sleeping in my arms
~having everyone here for breakfast
~continued warm weather
~the coming of Spring
~my husband’s prayer for me
~his encouraging words…where he sees God’s hand in my life
~freedom coming…living with less and less expectations…my own way.
